1.9 is here!!!

Hello Players of Alpha Realms,
We have been working to test and manage plugins for the server in preparation for the minecraft 1.9 updates. As many of you may not be aware, a great deal of our server's plugins are custom plugins. This means the job of updating them and supporting them falls on me. Much of the time since the release of 1.9 has been not only making these plugins for our server, but also then adding compatibility to work with 1.9.
Well, the wait is over. As of this morning around 9:00 am EST, the server has begun undergoing what we are calling a "soft update". During this update, much of the server will be backed up while it is still running so that you will experience minimal downtime during the update process. There may be several updates near the end of this process but they will be very close in sequence and will not take up much time.
Changes made in game after 12:00 pm EST today may or may not be reflected in the game after this update process. Players should proceed with that in mind.
We hope to have our server updated to 1.9, 1.9.1, and 1.9.2 by the end of the day today (11:59 pm EST). Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you in 1.9!!
